Villa Aegea
A private seaside retreat on the Aegean. Four suites above a private cove on the Aegean, let one party at a time.

A house built around the horizon.
Set on a southern slope of the Sithonia peninsula, Villa Aegea opens onto a single uninterrupted view: the Aegean, the headland, and beyond it, the silhouette of Mount Athos at sunrise. The architecture is restrained — stone, lime plaster, untreated oak — and was conceived to disappear into the landscape rather than command it.
Four bedroom suites occupy a single floor that runs east to west, each with its own terrace. The living pavilion sits below, sliding open onto a thirty-metre lap pool that appears to fall into the water. A path of cypress and rosemary descends through the olive grove to a private cove of fine pebble, ten minutes on foot.
Days here move slowly. Breakfast is laid on the shaded loggia. The pool is yours; so is the cove, the kayaks, the small wooden boat. A housekeeper arrives quietly in the morning; a chef can be arranged for the evening. There is no front desk, no signage, no other guests.

What they say after a week here.
The most generous house I have stayed in. The pool feels like part of the sea, and the staff are present without being seen. We have already rebooked for next August.
Quiet, beautifully made, and run by people who clearly love it. Coming back with the children at Easter.
We took the boat one morning to swim along the Athos coast, came back for lunch on the loggia. It was the slowest, best week of our year.
Architecturally one of the most considered houses I have rented anywhere in the Mediterranean.
